Eligibility Criteria

At the time of application, an applicant must:

  • Be a female domestic graduate student (Canadian citizen, permanent resident, protecte​d person)

  • Be within one year of having completed an undergraduate honours degree in the Faculty of Arts & Science or Medicine (e.g., must have obtained this degree between June 2016 and June 2017 for the 2017 competition)

  • Be commencing the first year of a full-time graduate program at U of T in Fall of the competition year and will maintain full-time registration throughout the academic year immediately following the current competition

  • Demonstrate financial need

  • Demonstrate academic merit

    • Have achieved at least A- ("A-" = 80%) or equivalent in each of the last two completed years of study (full-time equivalent)

      • ROSI print-out is sufficient for a U of T transcript. If the undergraduate honours degree​ was obtained at another institution, each applicant must provide a copy of their previous institution’s official transcript; this copy may be obtained upon request from the applicant's U of T graduate unit​

Application & Nomination Procedure

  1. University-Wide Awards application form

  2. Transcript(s), as per above

  3. Completed financial need assessment section within the application form​

  4. One letter of reference addressing the applicant's academic merit from an academic supervisor/advisor or a faculty member familiar with the applicant's academic work (one page maximum).
