The ground-level lounge is a bright, naturally lit, accessible space featuring comfortable seating and wireless internet. It is a place where graduate students can study, eat, meet friends and other graduate students or just relax. The room also features a Second Cup coffee kiosk.

The lower-level area is the Multi-Purpose Space. The room can seat approximately 30 people in boardroom or 40 people in lecture style and is equipped with a comprehensive range of audio-visual equipment . The School of Graduate Studies and its student life programming partners host a range of academic, social and professional events here and a listing of upcoming events is available from the Calendar of Events. This space is also available for booking and use during regular operating hours, and is available for quiet private and group study when not in use for programming.

Finally, Grad Room is home to GPS, the Graduate Professional Skills Program. GPS is a non-academic program presented by SGS consisting of a variety of offerings that provide doctoral stream students a range of opportunities for professional skills development.
