Ontario Women's Health Scholars - Now Closed
The Ontario Women’s Health Scholars Award is administered by the Ontario Council of Graduate Studies on behalf of Ontario government ministries. It is open to Master’s students, Doctoral students, and Post Doctoral Fellows.
The community of women's health scholars fostered by this Awards program will excel, according to internationally accepted standards of scientific excellence, in the creation of new knowledge about women's health and its translation into improved health for women, more effective health services and products for women, and a strengthened health care system.
Value
For 2012- 2013, up to two awards will be made at each of the Master’s and Doctoral levels, and one at the Postdoctoral level:
Master’s Awards - $18,000 plus $1,000 research allowance
Doctoral Awards - $20,0000 plus $2,000 research allowance
Postdoctoral Awards - $40,000 plus $5,000 research allowance

Delta Kappa Gamma World Fellowship - Now Closed
The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International is a professional honorary society of women educators. DKG promotes professional and personal growth of its members and excellence in education. The World Fellowship Fund was established to provide opportunities for women from foreign countries to pursue graduate studies in Canada and the United States. The value of the award is $4000 USD

The Pierre Elliot Trudeau Foundation Doctoral Fellowship - Now Closed
Interested applicants need to submit their applications to their Graduate Unit by the Graduate Unit’s deadline.
The Pierre Elliot Trudeau Foundation was established in 2001 as a living memorial to the former Prime Minister by his family, friends and colleagues. Through this scholarship, the Foundation supports highly gifted individuals who are actively engaged in their fields and are expected to become leading national and international figures.
Up to fifteen Trudeau Scholarships are awarded nationally each year and are available for three years. These scholars receive an annual stipend of $40 000 to support research-related travel and cover networking expenses associated with the Foundation's Public Interaction program. Award winners are provided with the opportunity to interact with exciting community leaders and committed individuals in every field of the social sciences and humanities.

MacKenzie King Scholarship
There are 2 types of Mackenzie King Scholarships: the “Open” Scholarship and the “Travelling” Scholarship. Both were established to support graduates of Canadian universities who are pursuing graduate studies. Mackenzie King “Open” Scholarship
Open to graduates of any Canadian university who are pursuing postgraduate (Master’s or Doctoral/PhD) study in any field, in Canada or elsewhere. Its value has been $10,000.00, but could be subject to change. Only 1 “Open” Scholarship is awarded annually at the National competition – applicants interested in applying need be aware of the extremely competitive nature of the award.
Mackenzie King “Travelling” Scholarship
Open to graduates of any Canadian university who are pursuing postgraduate (Master’s or Doctoral/PhD) study in either the United States or the United Kingdom in the subject area of international relations or industrial relations (these aspects also included within law, history, politics and economics). This scholarship has previously been awarded to 4 individuals annually ($11,000.00 each), but the number and value could be subject to change.

Avie Bennett Awards 2012-13 - Now Closed
Purpose and Value:
20 Avie Bennett graduate awards valued at $10,000 are available to full-time incoming PhD students in Division I for the 2012-2013 academic year. This award is offered for the first year of study in a PhD program and is Non-renewable.
Eligibility:
· The award will be available to Division I (Humanities).
· The award will be available to new full-time students entering a Ph.D. program in September 2012.
· Students who transfer from the master’s to the Ph.D. program are not eligible.
· Financial need of the recipient is a condition of the award (a member of the funded cohort is viewed as having financial need).
· Awards are open to Canadian and International students.
Terms and Conditions:
· The student will receive the award once registration is confirmed by the Graduate Awards Office.
· Repayment of the award is required, if a student is in full-time attendance fewer than 14 weeks in any session.
· Awards are non-renewable, but may be combined with other admission awards.
Nomination Process:
Each department may nominate up to three candidates for the Avie Bennett Award. If you are a student who wishes to be nominated, please contact the department you are applying through.

Fulbright Canada Scholarship Opportunities
The mandate of Fulbright Canada is to enhance mutual understanding between the people of Canada and the United States of America by providing support to outstanding graduate students, faculty, professionals, and independent researchers. These individuals conduct research, lecture, or enrol in formal academic programs in the other country. In doing so, Fulbright Canada aims to grow intellectual capacity, increase productivity, and assist in the shaping of future leaders in both countries.

John Gyles Education Awards
John Gyles Education Awards are available each year to students in both Canada and the United States. They are the result of a private, benevolent endeavour established in 1990.
To apply for a scholarship applicants must be enrolled full-time at (or accepted to) a college or university program as an undergraduate or graduate student. (High school seniors, and others, may apply pending acceptance.) Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0 (or similar grade assessment) and must also have citizenship in either the United States or Canada. No preference is given to students from either country. Additional criteria are listed on the application form.

IODE Canada is a national women's charitable organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals through education support, community service, and citizenship programs. Candidates must be Canadian Citizens and in at least their second year of doctoral program at a Canadian or Commonwealth University.
