CIHR Master's Award
The Canada Graduate Scholarships Masters (CGS-M) Awards administered by CIHR are intended to provide special recognition and support to students who are pursuing a Masters degree in a health related field in Canada. These candidates are expected to have an exceptionally high potential for future research achievement and productivity. The CIHR CGSD and the CIHR CGSM are open to Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada.
Canada Graduate Scholarships for Master's studies are valued at $17,500 for 12 months. The CIHR CGSM is non-renewable.
CIHR Master's applicants apply through ResearchNet. Please visit CIHR for further information.
Method of submitting applications
In order to apply for the Master's Award, each applicant must determine their proper way of applying. CIHR requires that all students who are registered at a university for the Fall 2013 term, to apply through that university in order to be considered for the Master's Award. As noted in the Funding Opportunity, being "registered" includes the following: registered in any level course, or in any other capacity; for example, part-time, full-time, one course only, course not related to the master's program, or special student, medical resident, etc. Only students who are not registered with a university for the Fall 2013 term, can apply directly to CIHR. Any applications that are received that do not follow these requirements will be withdrawn.
Students applying through U of T should check with their current or proposed graduate unit regarding internal deadlines (generally in the fall)
