Italian Studies


 

The Master of Arts program offers advanced education in all areas of Italian literature and provides training in research techniques. 

The Doctor of Philosophy program prepares students for a career in teaching and scholarship. Graduates are expected to have acquired autonomy in conducting research, preparing scholarly publications, teaching undergraduate courses in all areas of Italian studies, and in designing and teaching graduate courses in their fields of specialization. The program is designed to provide a broad knowledge of the discipline, specialized knowledge of a single field, and training in all aspects of scholarly research in the discipline.

Base Funding Amount -

Graduate units determine a base funding amount for doctoral research stream programs and the number of years that the student will be eligible. In addition to the Base Funding, all eligible students will receive the cost of academic tuition and fees. More information about Base Funding can be found at .​

Actual Income -

Students often have the opportunity to earn additional income through research stipends, internal and external fellowships, RA employment income and TA-ships. Therefore, the average actual income of students in a program is typically higher than the Base Funding amount in that program. More information about Actual Incomes can be found at .
