Pre-university education requires 12 years of study. Secondary School Certificate and entrance examinations required for admission to university.
*Bachelor level studies can be from 4 to 6 years depending on the field of specialization. A professional title is granted to graduates in some fields – e.g. doctor, engineer, economist.
** Master level studies last two years following the Diploma stage and require a thesis that is defended.

The system offers three cycle – Bachelor’s (undergraduate, 3-4 years), Master’s (graduate, 1-2 years) and Doctoral degrees. Professional disciplines offer integrated studies that require a total of 360 ECTS credits.
Diploma Supplements are not yet issued by institutions.
ECTS credit system is being used along with the local grading system as of 2006.
