Mindful Reading in a Digital Age: PDF’s to Podcasts

July 21 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am EDT

This is part 3 of a 3 part workshop series where we will use evidence-based learning strategies and mindfulness practices to help you settle and focus your mind for university reading. During this workshop, you will continue the conversation with a learning strategist from Academic Success and Dan D’Agostino, a librarian at Robarts and a certified teacher of Compassion Cultivation Training, to discuss how to read in a digital world. Topics covered during this session will include:

  • How different digital media have an impact on how we comprehend information
  • Why reading in a digital age has fragmented our information intake to screen reading, watching videos, and listening to podcasts; each has a different impact on the learner
  • We will discuss strategies and mindful approaches for academic reading in each digital medium (audio, video, text)
