Optimizing Effective Data Visualization – Online Workshop
November 17, 2020 @ 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm EST
This online workshop is taught by Ostap Soroka
This workshop will explore the best practices concerning the essential elements and common problems of effective, professional-level visual communications in the academic presentation context, with particular focus on the composition and design of data visualizations. This workshop will examine why some figures, charts, and graphs that work well on paper are not effective as presentation slides and what is needed to make them so.
This is the ninth of 11 workshops in the Getting Through Graduate Work workshop series.
This workshop will be offered online. Please register to receive a link to join the workshop at the scheduled time. If you are not able to register online (i.e. if you are not a currently registered U of T graduate student), please contact Lauren at firstname.lastname@example.org and she will register you manually.
