Punctuation in Academic Writing: Improving Sense and Style – Online Synchronous Workshop
October 4 @ 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm EDT
This workshop is taught by Jordana Lobo-Pires.
The accurate use of punctuation can make the difference between a confusing sentence and an elegant, clear one. This workshop will review the trickiest punctuation marks used in academic writing: commas, hyphens, dashes, colons, ellipses, and semi-colons. We will go over common punctuation errors and ways to correct them, as well as look at those murky areas where there may be multiple ways to use punctuation correctly for clarity and effect.
This is the fourth of 4 workshops in the Preparing for Academic Writing and Speaking in English workshop series.
This workshop will be offered live online and will not be recorded. Please register to receive a link to join the workshop at the scheduled time. If you are not able to register online or if you are not a currently registered U of T graduate student, please contact Sarah at email@example.com and she will register you manually.
