Writing Effective Emails – Online Workshop
October 9, 2020 @ 9:00 am – 10:30 am EDT
This online workshop is taught by Clare Nippard
At a time when we are becoming ever more reliant on email for much of our academic communication, it can be daunting to try to work out if our emails are appropriately professional and respectful. Using a case-study approach, this workshop will take a practical look at how to write effective emails, addressing issues such as when to use email, what to include in an email, how to open and close an email, and how to achieve the right level of formality. This 60-minute interactive workshop will be followed by a 30-minute Q and A session. While everyone is welcome, the content is primarily designed to support students who do not speak English as a first language.
This is the second of 5 workshops in the Preparing for Academic Writing and Speaking in English workshop series.
This workshop will be offered online. Please register to receive a link to join the workshop at the scheduled time. If you are not able to register online (i.e. if you are not a currently registered U of T graduate student), please contact Lauren at email@example.com and she will register you manually.
