Writing Effective Emails – Synchronous Online Workshop
May 25, 2021 @ 9:30 am – 11:00 am EDT
This synchronous online workshop is taught by Clare Nippard
both informally and more formally. Unlike face-to-face communication, where much of the meaning is derived from non-verbal elements such as facial expression and tone of voice, email relies on written language only. As such, while it is quick and easy, using email can be problematic. Using a case-study approach, this workshop will look at some common causes of miscommunication and provide practical strategies for reducing misunderstandings.
This is the first of 4 workshops in the Academic Writing/Speaking for Multilingual Speakers workshop series.
This workshop will be offered live online and will not be recorded. Please register to receive a link to join the workshop at the scheduled time. If you are not able to register online or if you are not a currently registered U of T graduate student, please contact Lauren at email@example.com and she will register you manually.
