Writing Effective Emails – Synchronous Online Workshop
- This event has passed.

This synchronous online workshop is taught by Clare Nippard
Emails are taking an increasingly central role in the way we communicate in academic settings, both informally and more formally. Unlike face-to-face communication, where much of the meaning is derived from non-verbal elements such as facial expression and tone of voice, email relies on written language only. As such, while it is quick and easy, using email can be problematic. Using a case-study approach, this workshop will look at some common causes of miscommunication and provide practical strategies for reducing misunderstandings.
This is the first of 4 workshops in the Academic Writing/Speaking for Multilingual Speakers workshop series.
This workshop will be offered live online and will not be recorded. Please register to receive a link to join the workshop at the scheduled time. If you are not able to register online or if you are not a currently registered U of T graduate student, please contact Lauren at email@example.com and she will register you manually.
