November 8, 2021 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm EST

This synchronous online workshop is taught by Alex De Serrano

This workshop is designed for students who are applying for NSERC (Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada) Master’s awards (CGS M). While several of the concepts examined will also be of relevance to students applying for an Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS), the focus of the course is on writing an effective NSERC proposal. (Check with your department regarding your eligibility to apply for funding through NSERC and/or OGS.) The deadline for submitting a proposal for a Master’s NSERC award is late November/Dec 1. During this 80 min workshop, the instructor will examine the specific features of unsuccessful and successful proposals and teach strategies for describing your research project as clearly as possible to others.

This workshop will be offered live online and will not be recorded. Please register to receive a link to join the workshop at the scheduled time. If you are not able to register online or if you are not a currently registered U of T graduate student, please contact Sarah at sgs.gcac@utoronto.ca and she will register you manually.
