Online Chat Sessions

For newly admitted graduate students:

SGS and U of T staff will answer questions about your offer of admission, provide you with information about your first steps upon receiving an offer, and direct you to important campus resources.

Two important notes:

(1) Not all offices are able to attend all chats. We'll be updating the list of participating offices for each chat. If you have questions about a particular topic, try to ensure that you participate in one of the chats attended by the relevant office.

(2) These chats are intended to provide campus-wide information. You may have questions about course selection and enrolment, but details of courses vary from program to program; funding details, too, vary from program to program. You'll need to contact your home graduate unit (department, faculty, school, or institute) for answers to program-specific questions.

How to participate

In order to join these chats, you'll need to create a My Gradschool VIP profile. Once you have a profile, there is no need to sign up in advance for individual chats; simply log on at the start time of the chat (or up to 10 minutes beforehand) and join in. Running a bit late? That's alright. You can log on at any time during the chat -- but you won't be able to read the messages from before your log-in.

On the day of the chat, log on to the chat landing page. Shortly before the chat starts, its listing will move up from "Upcoming Group Chats" to "Current Group Chats" and a link will appear for you to log in.

When you first log in, you will be in the Welcome Room, where SGS staff will answer general questions. Due to the large number of participating students, though, we ask participants to try to direct their questions to each office's dedicated chat room. Questions about finance should be directed to the Graduate Awards room, questions about immigration to the International Students room, and so on. In the upper-right hand corner of the chat screen you will find a drop-down menu of available rooms.

Degrees for Working Professionals at Rotman

We are holding a series of events aimed at working professionals interested in studying for an MBA or Master of Finance while continuing to work. Each event will provide an opportunity to find out about a different perspective of what it is like to be a student at Rotman, Canada's #1 Business School.

These events are free to attend and are open to anyone who is considering master level study and would like to find out how Rotman can help them realize their potential. Anyone who registers and attends one of these events will be eligible to be placed into a draw for one free spot in our MBA Essentials for Managers program (worth over $3,500) taking place in May or November 2017.
