Using Twitter to Connect Within and Beyond Academia – Synchronous Online Workshop

  • This event has passed.

January 31, 2023 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm EST

This synchronous workshop will be taught by Alex Sarra-Davis.

Since Web 2.0’s rise to popularity fifteen years ago, Twitter and other social media have come to define online conversation. At the start of 2019, Twitter reported having more than 330,000,000 monthly active users. Although the platform is used for everything from public relations to public revolutions, this workshop will focus specifically on how Twitter has become a major platform for academic networking and discussion. Given the extraordinary circumstances of the last year and Twitter’s private acquisition, the workshop will also discuss recent moves away from the platform and what its alternatives have to offer.

This is the first of 3 workshops in the Connecting Within and Beyond Academia workshop series.

This workshop will be offered live online and will not be recorded.
