Crafting Effective Sentences – Online Synchronous Workshop

  • This event has passed.

March 9, 2023 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm EST

This workshop is taught by Dr. Rachael Cayley.

Writers spend a great deal of time working with sentences. Despite this outlay of time, many writers worry that they lack a deep understanding of what makes a good sentence. In this workshop, we will consider what readers need for a pleasurable reading experience, focusing on the placement of information within sentences. We will end by considering some of the key grammatical issues that puzzle graduate writers.

This is the second of 4 workshops in the Improving Your Graduate Writing workshop series.

This workshop will be offered live online and will not be recorded. Please click ‘REGISTER’ just below, sign in to our registration portal, and click “Register for this Event” to receive the workshop meeting link by email. If you are not able to register online or if you are not a currently registered U of T graduate student, please contact sgs.gcac@utoronto.ca to be registered manually.
