- Notes for Bosnia-Herzegovina
Pre-university education requires 12 years of study. The Matura/ Secondary School Leaving Certificate and entrance examinations are required for admission to university-level institutions.
Disruptions in education occurred 1991-95. Be aware of this when assessing credentials from that period and note that some people may not have completed programs. Also, carefully review documents from that time and if you have any
concern, send original language documents back to institution for verification.

The system offers three cycle – Bachelor’s (undergraduate), Master’s (graduate) and Doctoral degrees.
Diploma Supplements are not yet issued by institutions.
ECTS credit system is being used along with the local grading system as of 2007.
Old degrees (traditional long cycle Magister) are still offered in some fields but are now considered second cycle awards.
