There is great variation of grading practices among universities. In some programs or institutions the highest grade awarded is 14. Grades are usually lower in science and engineering. A student`s rank in a class may be indicated on the transcript and should also be taken into consideration. Please consult the Recruitment and Admissions Office if you require more assistance.

Pre-university education is 12 years. University entrance examinations are required by the very selective public institutions.

In Peru both public and private institutions are autonomous. Universities are recognized under the University Law of 1983.
