In this workshop, we will discuss the key elements of effective figures design and specific computational strategies that graduate students can use to develop their own figures for publications. This workshop will provide detailed guidelines and information that graduate students can use to help create high quality figures, conceptual diagrams, and graphical abstracts for publication in the natural sciences using freely available software like Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, and R statistical computing.
