Developing and Maintaining a Productive Supervisory Relationship – Synchronous Online Workshop

  • This event has passed.

November 2, 2022 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm EDT

This workshop will be jointly led by Jane Freeman, Director of GCAC, and Caroline Rabbat, Director of the School of Graduate Studies’ new Centre for Graduate Mentorship and Supervision.  Doctoral students’ working relationships with their supervisor can have profound impacts on their experiences of writing a doctoral dissertation. In this workshop, we will reflect on this important relationship. We will discuss strategies for getting supervisory relationships off to a good start with mutually understood expectations, strategies for maintaining a productive supervisory relationship though clear communication and goal setting, and resources available to help if a supervisory relationship becomes problematic.

This is the fifth of 7 workshops in the Getting Through Graduate Work (Wednesdays) workshop series.

This workshop will be offered live online and will not be recorded.
