Improving Your Graduate-Level Reading Skills – Synchronous Online Workshop

  • This event has passed.

September 27, 2022 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm EDT

This synchronous workshop will be taught by Dr. Katherine Fry.

One of the biggest challenges of graduate school is how to cope with the large volume of reading you will need to do. This workshop is designed to help you manage the many different reading tasks you’ll encounter as a graduate student. We will discuss different kinds of reading (skimming, scanning, and deep reading), methods for improving your comprehension of what you read, and strategies for dealing with unfamiliar vocabulary.

This is the second of 8 workshops in the Academic Writing and Speaking in English workshop series.

This workshop will be offered live online and will not be recorded. Please click ‘REGISTER’ just below, sign in to our registration portal, and click “Register for this Event” to receive the workshop meeting link by email. If you are not able to register online or if you are not a currently registered U of T graduate student, please contact sgs.gcac@utoronto.ca to be registered manually.
