Punctuation in Academic Writing: Improving Sense and Style (Online Synchronous Workshop)

  • This event has passed.

November 8, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am EST

This workshop is taught by Dr. Jordana Lobo-Pires.

The accurate use of punctuation can make the difference between a confusing sentence and an elegant, clear one. This workshop will review the trickiest punctuation marks used in academic writing: commas, hyphens, dashes, colons, ellipses, and semi-colons. We will go over common punctuation errors and ways to correct them, as well as look at those murky areas where there may be multiple ways to use punctuation correctly for clarity and effect.

This is the 4th of 6 workshops in the theĀ Academic Writing and Speaking in English: Wednesday series.
