Punctuation in Academic Writing: Improving Sense and Style – Synchronous Online Workshop

  • This event has passed.

February 2, 2023 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm EST

This synchronous workshop will be taught by Jordana Lobo-Pires.

The accurate use of punctuation can make the difference between a confusing sentence and an elegant, clear one. This workshop will review the trickiest punctuation marks used in academic writing: commas, hyphens, dashes, colons, ellipses, and semi-colons. We will go over common punctuation errors and ways to correct them, as well as look at those murky areas where there may be multiple ways to use punctuation correctly for clarity and effect.

This is the fourth of 6 workshops in the Academic Writing and Speaking in English workshop series.

This workshop will be offered live online and will not be recorded.
