Boot Camps and Writing Intensives

GCAC Boot Camps and Intensive Courses are designed to give U of T graduate students a blend of expert guidance and dedicated writing time. We offer support in dissertation writing, proposal writing, and research article writing, at different points throughout the year. For more information on each, please see below. By combining opportunities for distraction-free writing with instruction on complex graduate writing genres, we help graduate students to meet their writing goals, deepen their understanding of academic writing, and build a community of writers.

GCAC Twitter Write Along #GCACWrites

During this time of physical isolation, GCAC would like you to come and write with us! We’ll be having two Twitter Write Along sessions each week: Mondays, 2:00-4:00 and Thursdays, 10:00-12:00. Please feel free to join @UofTGCAC by using the hashtag #GCACWrites. These sessions will be hosted by Rachael Cayley, who will also be available to answer your writing questions. All you need to do is join us on Twitter with the hashtag. We’ll find out who is joining us and we’ll set our writing goals before writing for two hours, in 30 minute blocks. Once our two hours are up, Rachael will be happy to answer any questions about graduate writing.

NOTE: It goes without saying that these are difficult times. Many graduate students will need to set aside their writing tasks to focus on getting through this crisis. If, however, you do decide to continue with your writing right now, we hope this initiative may be of some help. Please feel free to get in touch with Rachael if you have any questions.
